Together, Everyone, Achieves, More

T.E.A.M. Safety.

This is an issue that should be of the utmost importance to every right thinking individual in the workplace. It is widely accepted and recognised that the issue of workplace safety is not only the responsibility of the company and management but of all right thinking individuals.

Management have a pivotal role in leading the way by
the implementation of the rules and regulations that provide a safe environment and conditions in the workplace, however this is only the catalyst for a successful outcome.

“Without a responsible attitude and full support from
employees safety is merely aspirational”

What is not emphasised enough or given its due credence is the responsibility of the employee to act in a
safe manner, adhere to the safety regulations and where
necessary look out for their fellow employees and ensure
that they are behaving in a manner that is acceptable.

Workshop accidents or the breaking of safety regulations
not only harm the Company, employees, but their families, extended families and work colleagues.

It is the hidden consequences that are often forgotten or
just overlooked. There are no winners in workplace
accidents. Certainly the unfortunate individual gets compensation, but at what cost. What price can you put on the permanent damage to one’s back of the loss of a limb through careless action.

Every accident has a cost and not necessarily monetary. The effect on the individual and his or her work colleagues can often be devastating. There are no winners when an accident occurs.

Are you aware that every time an incident occurs in the workplace it has to be recorded?

In competing for contracts our safety record is noted by the main contractor and if it is bad we are excluded from tendering.

Indirectly acting in a manner that is reckless or showing a lack of respect for the safety rules means you are putting your own livelihood at risk and that of your families and work colleagues.

Safety rules are not enforced to make life hard for people, they are there to protect and show that the company cares for your wellbeing.

Can you by your actions say that you have the same respect and care for yourselves, your loved ones, and those around you. Please adhere to the rules and make others realize that we are all on this journey together.
